A Letter from the Cove Staff

March 14, 2014

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Cove Community is looking for new and fresh ideas of how the outgoing classes can leave a special gift to the school. Several years ago a talented parent of a fifth grader volunteered her time and expertise to help the students create a class gift outside the cafeteria. They created our first mural. The mural project has evolved over time into something different and has become an expectation that occurs on a yearly basis.  As wall space has become scarce due to the many beautiful murals we have the privilege of viewing and enjoying, we are looking for other creative and innovative ideas!

Prior to the murals, the fifth grade classes left a gift to the school; for example, the bricks in front of the school. Therefore we have decided to go back to giving a class gift or other idea that give students an avenue to leave their mark on Cove School as they move on to the middle school.

This spring we’re looking for parent volunteers to brainstorm some possibilities and head up fundraising for the gift. There are many areas of our wonderful school that could use a special gift.  We encourage any volunteers who would be interested in helping to contact Mrs. Oliver or one of the fifth grade teachers.

Respectfully,

The Cove School Staff
