Second Grade Butterfly Release!

Wise Owl Book Club

In our 4th grade book club we read Everything for a Dog  by Ann Martin.  She also wrote A Dog's Life -Autobiography of a Stray.  Our book was about Bone, a stray dog who is longing to have a safe and loving home.  Bone is the brother of the stray dog in Ann Martin's first book.  The other characters in the book are dog lovers. Charlie is struggling over the death of his older brother and has his dog Sunny to help him cope with the his loss.

Henry is another boy character eager to own a dog.  Even after his best friend has moved away, his parents still won't allow him to have a dog.  These characters and their stories come together in a wonderful way in this dog tale!!

The group enjoyed making dog biscuits, writing a Bill of Rights for Stray Dogs, and journal entries from the point of view of Bone, the stray dog in the story.

**Mrs. Oliver's two pugs Mugsy and Bella really enjoyed the dog treats! : ) Thank you Book Club!
