It's Almost Here...




The First Annual Cove Elementary School Science Fair will be held this Thursday, November 21st!

Students participating in the Science Fair will have their projects judged at school from 2:15 - 4:00

The Cove School Community is invited to view the Public Exhibit on Thursday evening between the hours of 6:30-7:30.

The event will commence with an Awards Ceremony at 7:15, with awards going to the Top 3 Projects in each grade level!

Please bring your families into the school to view the exhibits and applaud the hard work of the participants at this Inaugural Event!

Genevieve's Fall Fundraiser




The delivery date for the Genevieve's Fall Fundraiser is this Thursday, November 14th!


Orders will be distributed to students for them to take home.  If you are expecting a large order or if your child walks or takes the bus, please plan accordingly, as they may need your assistance.  Very large orders will be held in the front lobby for pick-up.

Canned Food Drive



The Grade 5 Student Council is sponsoring a community service project to support the Salvation Army's Holiday Food Drive.  We are collecting canned and non-perishable food items from  this Thursday, November 7th until Monday, November 18th to help support those families in need in our community.  The Salvation Army has requested the following items:

  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Pasta
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Stuffing Mix
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • Gravy
  • Apple Juice
  • Nuts
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Soups/Broth
  • Canned Fruit
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Cake/Bread Mix
Any additional non-perishable items will also be accepted.  Donations should be left in the decorated boxes in the school lobby.

Cove Children's Garden


Upcoming Events in Cove’s Children’s Garden


Oct. 21st  2:15-3 p.m.: Gathering fall leaves and making leaf crowns
We will search the garden for beautiful fall leaves & make leaf crowns.

Oct. 27th, 2:15-3 p.m.: Pumpkin exploration
Join us as we explore pumpkins from the inside out!

Saturday, Nov. 2nd, 1-3 p.m.: Weekend clean up day
For those families and friends who cannot make it during the week, this is the perfect time to come join us as we prepare the garden for winter. We will read a book, talk about the changes in the garden, and have some fall treats.

Nov. 4th  2:15-3 p.m.: Herb hunting day
Our garden has quite a few hidden herbs ranging from oregano to peppermint. Come join us as we search the garden for various herbs and clip them for drying.

Beverly Citywide PTO is once again assisting in Beverly Bootstraps Backpack Drive.  Together, Beverly Bootstraps and the Citywide PTO distribute over 300 backpacks a year!

The Cove School Community has been asked to collect
GLUE STICKS, SCISSORS AND MARKERS.

There will be a collection box in the lobby, and you or your child can deposit any contributions in it.

2013 MomBall Food Drive to Benefit Beverly Bootstraps

MomBall will be holding a food drive on September 20-22, 2013 during our softball tournament to benefit the Beverly Bootstraps Food Pantry. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in our community and we encourage you to join this effort to help those in need.
Beverly Bootstraps Food Assistance Programs provide Beverly and Manchester-by-the Sea residents with access to food through a variety of programs.

You may donate any non‐perishable food during the drive, including . . .
  •   Canned tuna, fish, meat
  •   Peanut butter and jelly
  •   Soups, stews and “meals in a can”
  •   Canned fruits & vegetables
  •   Beans, rice, pasta, oatmeal, cereal

10 Ideas to Utilize The Children's Garden



   Story hour in the garden
 Season and/or sensory walk
  “I Spy” with colors, textures, patterns, etc.
   Nature art
   Outdoor writing time
   Outdoor quiet time
  Outdoor snack
.   Incorporation the garden into math (volume jugs outside using the hose, area, symmetry, etc.)

During winter months, explore different constructions like snowmen, birdhouses, fairy houses, etc.

             Use the garden for decompression, relaxation, and/or de-escalation.
