Dear Grade 5
Parents/Guardians:
At this time, many of
you may be thinking about your fifth grade son’s/daughter's transition to
middle school next year. This transition is clearly an important event in your child's
life, and one that we would like to make as smooth and comfortable as possible.
In order to facilitate
this transition into middle school, we have scheduled two separate events. Our first event is our Grade 5 Move-Up Night,
scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2015.
You and your child are invited to learn about Briscoe Middle School and
meet some members of its faculty, beginning at 7:00 PM in the school’s
auditorium. During this evening, you
will hear from the school’s administration, guidance counselors, and current 6th
grade teachers. In addition, you will be
afforded the opportunity to tour the building with your child after the
presentation in the auditorium. Please
mark your calendars for Thursday, January 22nd at 7:00 PM. We hope to see you all there!
Our second event will
be scheduled for the spring of 2015. At
this time, administrators from Briscoe will be visiting your child’s elementary
school for a question and answer session.
Prior to this visit, we will be providing transition forms to your child’s
teacher so that we may begin scheduling for our 2014-2015 school year.
We all look
forward to meeting you and your child on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 7:00 PM
in the Briscoe Middle School Auditorium.
