Wise Owl Literature Club: The Sixty-Eight Rooms by Marianne Malone

We had the privilege of reading Marianne Malone’s The Sixty Eight Rooms for our first book and we loved it. It tells the story of two friends, Jack and Ruthie, who find a magic key that allows them to explore The Thorne Rooms in The Art Institute of Chicago.  These sixty-eight rooms are miniature replicas of various time periods ranging from medieval times to the 1970s. The book is full of mystery, suspense, and history (even some local history in Topsfield and Salem)!  We highly recommend reading this book and decided to make our own miniature room to represent a present day living room, complete, of course, with a flat screen t.v. and computer.
